Wiping Drives with RescuePRO Secure Erase

To wipe a drive using RescuePRO Secure Erase, simply click the Wipe icon in the tool bar.

A second dialog box will appear, asking you to select the drive you wish to wipe. Select the drive and click OK.  You will receive a warning dialog to choose if you would like to continue.

Please note that wiping a drive is a detailed process, and even a simple fast zero-write can take a very long time. Higher security wiping can take many hours to perform.

Because the data will be completely unrecoverable, a second confirmation dialog will appear to allow you another chance to cancel if this is not the correct drive. Otherwise, click Start.

During the wipe procedure, you will be given a status screen. You can cancel the wipe, but the data that has already been deleted will still be permanently deleted.

When the wipe is finished, the Delete Confirmation Certificate will display the folders and files deleted, as well as the date, and the method of delete used.

This screen will also have the option to save, and print the delete certificate.
